CALL TO WORSHIP

We are the people of God!

We come to this place for many reasons:

Because of habit, because of need,

Because of our faith, because of our doubt,

Because of our friendship, because of love.

We are here to listen for the Word God has for us,

To open our hearts to God’s touch,

To offer our prayers and lift our voices in praise.

Come, let us worship God.

*HYMN # 220            “Praise to the Lord”

OPENING PRAYER

Loving God, you touch our lives in so many ways:

you raise us up when we feel discouraged,

you ground us when we are flighty and on edge,

you inspire us when we have lost the sense of who we are,

you accompany us in the many and varied journeys we take

each and every day of our lives.

Be with us in this time of worship, and give us the direction

we need to face the future with hope and energy.

We pray all of this in Jesus’ name saying:

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy

kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our

trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil;

for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever

and ever. Amen.

       Thought for the Week

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Heavenly Humour

One Sunday an usher who was helping collect the offering overheard a small child exclaim: “Daddy, don’t pay for me! I’m only four! Under five is free!
