December has passed. Are we through worshipping the baby?

            No! Today is another special day for the church

            - Epiphany.

Epiphany - that means the shining forth.

            Christmas is only the beginning.

The beginning of a life and ministry that changed

the world!

            So we come to celebrate the love of God.

           shining forth in the world.

*HYMN # 96   “Will You Come and See the Light?”

OPENING PRAYER

God of starry heavens and struggling earth;

we have seen your star of hope and

knelt at the cradle of your love.

By the power of your Spirit, shine forth among us.

Calm our fears by the knowledge of your abiding

presence. Still our cynical minds with imaginative

Possibilities to fight against violence and

oppression and work for peace and justice for

the vulnerable. Like the Magi, may we journey

with you into a future of risk and promise;

we pray in Jesus’ name, saying

THE LORD`S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is

in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and

forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who

trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom,

the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

THOUGHT for the WEEK

“Whosoever has food to eat and clothes to put on,

with something over, is rich indeed.”   - The Rev. John Wesley

HEAVENLY HUMOUR

Joseph excitedly looked at the expensive gifts left by the Magi. “Isn’t it wonderful!”, he said to Mary.

“I suppose so,” replied Mary. “But what we really needed was a crib.”
