WELCOME

LENTEN LITANY

*CALL TO WORSHIP

One: O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

All: So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory.

One: Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

All: I will bless you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands and call on your name.

PRAYER OF APPROACH

*Hymn VU # 395 Come In, Come In and Sit Down

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

All: God, you call us to honesty about who we are and all that we do. In these moments, make us honest with ourselves. We remember now those things we have done or left undone that have hurt others, that have caused suffering and pain to our world, that have betrayed our love for ourselves. (Pause for silent reflection.) Give us now the courage and the wisdom to do things differently, to change our behaviour so that in asking for forgiveness we might lead forgiven lives. In the spirit of Jesus Christ who befriended and loved all sinners, we now pray. Amen

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

One: God has set a glorious table laden with abundant pardon and forgiveness, calling us to receive it and live once again. Let us lift up our hearts in thankfulness

All: Thanks be to God! Amen.
