OPENING PRAYER

O God, by your Spirit you are with us through all our days: sharing our pain, helping us to celebrate, giving us hope when ours is low. As we gather today to worship you and eat at your banquet table, bind us together in the unity of love into one world wide community, through Christ, our host, we pray:

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

The Lord be with you

And also with you.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them up to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God,

It is right to give God thanks and praise.

Today we gather to share the Lord’s Supper together.

Today we gather to give thanks to God.

For the harvest of lake and field,

We give you thanks, O God.

For the gift of family and friends,

We give you thanks, O God.

For every beat of our hearts, for every breath we take,

We give you thanks, O God.

For the ear that listens, for the arms that reach out in love,

We give you thanks, O God.

For the tears of shared sorrow, and the laughter of shared joy,

We give you thanks, O God.

Today we remember that we are all part of God’s family,

Today we remember that night long ago when Jesus

invited his friends to share a special meal with him.

During the meal, Jesus took bread, broke it, and gave it to his

friends saying: “Take, eat, This is my body broken for you.

Each time you eat this bread, remember me.”

Each time we eat this bread we will remember him.

After dinner he picked up a cup of wine and gave it to them

saying: “Take, drink. This is the cup of the promises of God.

Each time you drink this, remember me.”

Each time we drink this cup we will remember him.

By the signs of bread and wine, we dream of a time when all humanity will live together in peace as one family,

and the whole world will live according to God’s way.

Come, Holy Spirit; bless these gifts of bread and wine. May all who eat at this table be one in Christ, one in love for you and for all people, as we seek you reign of justice and peace on earth.

Come, Holy Spirit, come.

Now, we are invited come to the banquet table to eat the bread and drink the wine with Christ.

We come to the Lord’s table with joy to share a holy meal

of grace and fellowship.

Let us praise the God who makes us one family.

Let us celebrate together!

The gifts of God for the people of God. Come now, for all is ready.

THE SHARING OF THE BREAD AND THE CUP

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION

We thank you, God, that you have called your people from east and west, north and south, to feast at the table of Jesus Christ. Go with us now to the streets, to our homes, and to our places of labour and leisure. Never let us forget that whether we are gathered or scattered, we are part of the servant church of Jesus Christ, called to share God’s love with the world. Amen.

WE GO OUT INTO GOD’S WORLD

May the God of hope go with us every day,

Filling all our lies with love and joy and peace.

May the God of Justice speed us on our way,

Bringing light and hope to every land and race.

Praying, let us work for peace; singing, share our joy with all;

Working for a world that’s new;

faithful when we hear Christ’s call.

Our Mission

We firmly believe there are a need and a place for God in our lives, in our community and our world. We welcome everyone to joyfully worship in an open, warm and secure environment and offer them the opportunity to share the fellowship of an active church.

THOUGHT for the WEEK

A joyful heart enjoys blessings twice;

when they are received and when they are remembered.

HEAVENLY HUMOUR

It’s important for your health to have an attitude of thanksgiving.

When you get up in the morning, do you say,

“Good morning, Lord!”? Or, “Good Lord! It’s morning!”?
